Coaching is a partnership. You and your Coach are collaborators working together for your benefit. The conversations within the partnership will help set the foundations of what you need to navigate what’s next for you. Simply put, coaching is an investment in you for you and likely one of the best investments you will ever make.
The foundation of all coaching is trust, and a coach’s reputation and business are built on that trust. Along with trust, confidentiality and respect are the other cornerstones of coaching. This is especially true when it comes to executive coaching. An Executive Coach will consider the content of every coaching session as absolutely sacrosanct given that highly confidential and sensitive information is often shared. Anything less than 100% confidentiality simply does not work.
The benefits you will get out of a coaching arrangement are directly linked to your commitment and the efforts you put in. Your coach will give you questions to consider and/or challenges for you to work on in between sessions to increase your self-awareness and/or gain greater clarity. The real work of coaching happens in between sessions.
